Strategic Initiatives & Advocacy

Driving Policy and Investment in Key Sectors

The Council actively engages with stakeholders to advocate for strategic initiatives that unlock the DRC and Africa's economic potential and build an attractive, sustainable investment environment. Our focus is on tangible, large-scale projects and policies that foster long-term growth.

Infrastructure Rail and road freight corridors modernization

Infrastructure Development

Modern and efficient infrastructure is the backbone of any thriving economy. We advocate for the strategic design, construction, and modernization of critical transportation networks, including road, rail, and maritime corridors. Investing in this core infrastructure is essential for enhancing regional connectivity, reducing the costs of trade, and creating a reliable framework for sustainable economic growth and market integration.

SEZs Special Economic Zones in the DRC

Special Economic Zones (SEZs)

Special Economic Zones are powerful instruments for accelerating industrialization. We promote the establishment of these designated zones to create an attractive and competitive business environment for foreign direct investment. SEZs serve as hubs for attracting both multinational corporations and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to establish facilities for the local processing of raw materials, such as agricultural goods and critical minerals, thereby adding value in-country and boosting exports.

Trade Policy Local value creation and trade policy

Local Value & Trade Policy

Our advocacy focuses on shifting economic models from raw material exportation to robust, in-country value creation. We champion policies that support the local production and processing of goods, which is critical for building a resilient industrial base. By enhancing domestic capacity, local products become more competitive within major international markets and can better leverage global trade frameworks, driving both economic diversification and growth.

Governance Curbing illicit trade and improving traceability

Curbing Illicit Trade

Ensuring that natural resource wealth benefits national development requires a firm commitment to combating illicit trade. We are dedicated to initiating and supporting working groups aimed at curbing fraud and smuggling in key sectors, such as mining. Our objective is to develop and implement integrated strategies that strengthen supply chain traceability and help dismantle the illicit networks that undermine economic stability and good governance.

Investment Investment promotion in strategic regions

Investment Promotion

We actively work to stimulate economic growth by showcasing tangible opportunities to the global investment community. The Council's investment promotion efforts focus on proactively marketing the potential in key economic sectors and regions. By connecting capital with viable projects, we aim to foster localized economic development and spur sustainable job creation.
